AfB at 57th symposium procurement and logistics in Berlin

What adjustments have to be considered when trying zu create a sustainable future of procurement, materials management and logistics - especially in times of bottlenecks on the global market and its supply chains? At the 57th Symposium on procurement and logistics from October 12 to 14, 2022 in Berlin, the 1,200 participants addressed this question, among others. AfB took part.

The main focus was on establishing more sustainable business processes in logistics and purchasing. Modern best practices met long-established "top dogs" and the exchange with each other was enormously valuable. "It was a great opportunity to get in touch with so many interesting people who are committed to sustainability in procurement and logistics," says Claudia Di Chio, Partner Manager at AfB. "I was inspired by the open mindset and the friendliness of the people I met at the 57th Symposium in Berlin. Summing up: I'll be glad to be there again next year."

The German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME), as organizer, announced 1,200 participants who "regarding the continuing tensions in international supply chains discussed suitable levers for a sustainable future design of purchasing, materials management and logistics."

"Sustainable interaction with recycled IT does not only contribute for a better ESG rating or reduce CO2 emissions and electronic waste, but is also pays off for employees, the environment and society," knows Christoph Teusch, who accompanied the fair as CSR manager.
