IT-company AfB certificated according to ISO 14001

The non-profit IT-company AfB gGmbH meets the requirements of corporate environmental protection and is certificated according to ISO 14001.

An auditor from TÜV Süd confirmed that the operational environmental management system of AfB gGmbH complies with the globally recognised standard ISO 14001. In addition to the quality requirements according to ISO 9001, the non-profit IT company AfB also fulfils important requirements of operational environmental protection.

"The fact that we, as a non-profit company, meet the international standard for in-house environmental management is a great confirmation for us," says AfB Managing Director Paul Cvilak happily and explains: "At AfB, people with and without disabilities work together to provide high-quality IT services and products. Both economic and environmentally friendly actions are the focus of our attention. This is part of our corporate concept. I would like to thank all employees for living and implementing this every day.

As an internationally recognized basis for environmental management systems, the environmental management standard ISO 14001 covers all aspects of optimizing the environmental performance of a company. The aim is to reduce the company's own environmental impact, use energy and raw materials efficiently and minimize environmentally relevant risks inside the company. Every company that wishes to have its environmental management system certified must have compliance with the standard confirmed by external audits. In Germany, 8,000 companies are certified according to ISO 14001, worldwide more than 360,000 organizations comply with the standard.

"We have professionalized our environmental management system and successfully integrated it into all areas of the company," confirms Fiona Jäger, AfB's environmental management officer, and assures: "The certification is an incentive for us to continue optimizing and improving our processes and procedures.
