AfB wins European Social Impact Award 2024

In January 2024, AfB received the European Social Impact Award from for promoting inclusion in the IT sector.

The 2024 European Impact Award

The European Impact Awards were launched in 2023 by The non-profit organisation, made up of executives from the technology industry, has set itself the task of promoting and raising awareness of sustainability around the world through targeted programmes, frameworks and certifications. The organisation sees technology and IT managers as key trailblazers for greater sustainability.

SustainableIT has defined its own standards in three main categories: Enviromental, Social and Governance (ESG; environment, social and governance). The aim of the award is to recognise companies that are committed to these areas and make them more visible. Accordingly, the award is divided into the three pillars of sustainability mentioned above: the Environmental Award, the Social Award and the Governance Award.

Social Impact Award for inclusion and diversity

AfB was one of four companies to win the Social Impact Award. This recognises AfB's contribution to a more inclusive society. SustainableIT describes the award as follows:

"The Social Impact Award focuses on champions of diversity, equity, and inclusion within IT, and significant contributions to community relations and sustainable jobs."

AfB Managing Director Daniel Büchle and Partner Manager Tobias Negwer accepted the award at the European Impact Summit in Hamburg on 25 January 2024.

Daniel Büchle explained the social background of AfB: “We started from our beginning in 2004 with a big social impact goal, and that's why we are a nonprofit company, a social business.”
