First AfB forum in Ettlingen - Sustainable action with & through IT

IT and CSR experts from all over Germany discussed new impulses for the interaction of IT, sustainability and data security.

When around 100 decision-makers from Siemens, Fujitsu, Schaeffler, Lidl, Bechtle, SAP, the state of Baden-Württemberg and many others get together in a warehouse in Ettlingen at hot summer temperatures, there must be a special reason: On Wednesday, June 6th, the non-profit IT company AfB (Arbeit für Menschen mit Behinderung) invited participants to exchange views on IT, sustainability and data security.

IT and CSR experts travelled from all over Germany to follow the panel discussion chaired by SWR moderator Markus Brock. CEOs, CIOs and IT and CSR managers exchanged views on the topic of "Sustainability in IT". In the end, everyone agreed: Despite the enormous demand for computing power, digitalization and sustainability work for and with each other.

The subsequent workshops on the topics of blockchain in the supply chain, data deletion of new storage technologies, IT security gaps and responsible action in the digital space created further perspectives and concrete impulses for rethinking. The AfB used this opportunity to award partner companies for their social-ecological commitment within the framework of the joint cooperation.

AfB thanks for an eventful forum with many interesting discussions about new perspectives in the interaction of sustainability and IT.
