What AfB is and what it does
As Europe's first non-profit IT company, AfB is specialized in data erasure and remarketing of decommissioned IT hardware from european corporations, insurances, banks and public institutions. AfB retrieves the devices with trained personnel, transports these to the nearest AfB location. There the devices are checked, all data is removed in a certified manner and required repairs are undertaken. Throughout 18 locations and online the IT-devices are remarketed with up to three years warranty. Old or defective devices are disassembled and recycled under highest ecological and ethical standards, resulting in the production of new resources in Europe. The original owner of the devices receives all relevant reports including data destruction certificates for delivered hardware. All work steps are designed barrier-free and employees with and without disabilities work together side by side.

AfB offers a host of vocational training Programmes; 2-3-year training programmes are the norm.

The Duale Studium BWL- Trade (work-study programme BA in Commerce) is a 2-3 year programme finishing with a Bachelor of Arts. It is perfect for all those who are striving for a responsible position in a company and have a knack for business thinking.
We offer a number of internships in a variety of departments to those who want to get a first look and a feel for the work processes at AfB and could be followed by entering a job training programme.

After successfully finishing your business administration studies there are opportunities to take part in a Trainee Programme.
Divisions of the company
Warehouse/logistics staff are responsible for the pick-up of hardware at our partner’s site, the subsequent items check and the appropriate storage of the IT hardware.
All relevant details of the device (manufacturer, model, serial number etc) are recorded and all labels removed from the device. Here the decision about of the destination of the hardware is made: recycling or re-marketing.
The staff in the data deletion department is responsible for the certified deletion of data on the IT device. Data storage media that cannot be swiped clean will be taken out and destroyed.
The experts in the technical department repair, exchange components or upgrade devices prior to sale.
Our refurbishing team takes care of the look of the product ready for sale. After the devices have undergone data deletion and all tests, they will be cleaned and stored.
Distribution and Sales
Distribution finds new partner companies and manages the partners we already have. Our sales staff at our shops advises and supports customers in their choice of hardware and software. The e-commerce team is responsible for all online channels used to sell our products.
